I'm trying something new . . .

Last night, I attended my first woodcarving class.  Yep, woodcarving.  I have never done any of that in my entire life, but thought I would give it a try.  This feather is my first attempt.  I know it isn't much, but I am proud of it.  I also started work on a buzzard, but I don't think I am going to finish it, because it is way too hard for my skill level.  I don't think I am going to sell my wood carvings, but just do it for fun.

I saw your blog and had to post. This feather reminds me of my Aunts 2nd husband, George. George was a decoy carver. He carved feathers and made them into pins. He then gave one to his wife (my aunt), his 2 step daughters, and all of his wifes sisters and sister-in-laws (that totaled 10 more). He passed many years ago, but whenever they wear their pins they think of him. And whenever I see a feather I think of him. Your pin is beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!!
