I Am Trying My Luck Making Boxes . . . Again

A few years ago, I made alot of boxes that I took to some craft shows. The shows I picked were not good ones, so I didn't sell many boxes. I haven't given up, though. I am thinking about selling boxes again. I made the box above over the weekend. I borrowed the picture idea from Donna Dewberry. I am going to practice some of her ideas until I get better at making pictures, and then I will do my own compositions. The photo above is a little blurry, I know. My camera does a terrible job on close ups. The box still needs to have the hardware installed and a lining put inside, but I wanted to post it anyways. I'll be interested in comments on it.

Your box is beautiful. You're too hard on yourself!

Love your work. I'd be interested in the little bench/stool with the forget-me-nots on them. I live in Ohio between Akron and Medina. Where can people buy your things? Do you sell on Etsy? You can reply in these comments.

To Kristi --

Sorry for taking so long to answer your comment. . . I didn't know how to submit a comment to my own blog and my daughter told me how to do it. . . Thank you for the kind words about my work. . . I am presently not selling my work anywhere as it is winter time . . . I have never tried to sell on Etsy feeling that many of the things I make are rather large and the shipping would be costly. . .I am hoping to start a small shop here at my house where I can sell my work, hopefully sometime this year . . . Thanks for your interest

Your woodworking is beautiful. I came upon your blog through your daughter's. I can't wait to take time to snoop around and read your archives.

My father used to make all kinds of things for me. I would show him a picture and say this is what I want and he figured it out and drew up the plans. He is now in his 80's and no longer building things. I cherish the benches, sofa table, and china cabinet he made for me (along with numerous other items). So, I say "way to go" and don't forget to give your family some of your treasures as keep sakes.
